Heroes of Might and Magic 6 (Shades of Darkness + Danse Macabre + Pirates of the Savage Sea)

The latest game addition to the heroes sequel, I would have to say has mind blowing graphics! The story and gameplay is linked from Heroes 5 about the world of Asha. The great and entertaining graphics sure intrigue gamers with the well animated battle scenes and wonderful world of Asha to be explored. The game play is pretty similar to Heroes 5 in terms of battle with the grid in a 3D view. The information analysis of armies are also pre-warned with a level from trivial to brutal. Creatures now in battle have a chance of achieving a critical strike too with their own individual animation and causing more damage and kills than expected. Heroes system are now choosing with a path of tear or blood. Tear will be the merciful choice and would usually grant your hero more defensive skills while blood be the brutal choice giving your hero more offensive skills.

The beautiful world of Asha just awaiting adventure.

Races of the game

Haven is towns of humans and its allies in the Holy Empire, guarded by Knights and Clerics. Selected by the angels to worship Elrath, dragon god of light. Their objective is to lead a life worthy of Elrath’s ideals of Truth and Purity to shape the world in his image and to spread his sacred light.

Sanctuary are organized according to temples that exist wherever there are sources or expanses of water. Warriors and monks, peasants and poets, they worship Shalassa, The Dragon Goddess of Water, who grants them magical powers based on this element. Nagas live with a goal of self-perfection and purification; whatever their callling or craft they strive to live up to the highest ideals of their masters and of the legends that came before them.

Stronghold are ruled by orcs by combining demon blood, human flesh, and other things best not spoken of. Though the Orcs have no god, their Shamans pay homage to "Mother Earth" and "Father Sky", two powerful spirits they meet when they travel into their "Dream World".

Infernos are towns of demons, the children of Urgash. Although not worshiping their father, they will carrying out happily his desire to kill, rape, burn and destroy everything that Asha has created.

Necropolis is a town of undead ruled by Necromancers and Ebon Knights. Worshiping Asha, the Primordial Dragon of Order herself but in a twisted version of her "Death" aspect. Believing that life is filled with chaos, fear and misery. Instead they look upon death as clean, peaceful and orderly.

Dungeon is a town of rebel dark elves that have seek refuge underground. Worshipping Malassa, the Dragon of Darkness. The magic of the Dark Elves is actually sorcery, not that of the druids. They also have rituals and they have enslaved the minotaurs.

My Perspective of the Game

I personally feel that this is a great game. Your heroes now have various abilities to learn so plan and allocate your points wisely. Personally I feel that having might is way more OP than magic in this game. I would highly recommend you to pump into those combat passive skills like the final tier to unlimited retaliation and those that boost initiative and give your creatures an extra move to attack upon first pack killed. Since I am an aggressive style player, I would also usually go with blood reputation unless the tear reputation has a great spell that I would find suitable for my build.

Heroes now have a choice of either tear or blood.

I don't really enjoy the storyline of the campaign as I have found it too confusing. Since the campaign events are all occurring concurrently and gets quite messy. Depending your reputation choice of your various campaign heroes, Only 1 will advance to the final tear campaign siding Archangel Michael to take down Daragon God Malassa or the other with blood siding Malassa against Michael. The story for Sandro and Raelag were much more interesting and fun to play. Sandro have been such a villain and I cant wait for the next installment to see how it ends.

I am the shadow of death, come to harvest your soul.

Lastly, I am yet again supporting my favorite race Haven. They came back stronger as ever with new units like the Radiant Glory. They have a high offensive, travel distance and a no retaliation from enemy as they teleport to attack them and back to their starting position. Talking about how irritating and offensive it is to go against them just makes it frustrating. Sun Crusader aka champions are now able to travel over obstacle with their active spell and their damage increase with more grid threaded. Another new addition called Vestals are a good combination to use as their active heal can heal back and resurrect fallen units also. The Celestial aka archangels are as strong as ever and able to fly over obstacle and chance to resurrect units are a must to have in any game.

Haven troops are at an all time powerful. May Elrath light our path.
